About this artwork
In my recent series, the cypresses are no longer simply trees: they become presences, almost characters. They stand in the landscape, bearers of mystery and emotion. Their slender silhouettes, solitary or grouped together, suggest gestures, postures, and relationships.
My work consists of reinventing the landscape. By simplifying and transforming forms, I manage to reveal the soul of trees. The cypress then becomes a hybrid being: both vegetal and… human, material and spiritual.
It embodies the silent tension between nature and consciousness, between what we see and what we feel.
Movement, rhythm, and light structure the space of the canvas, allowing the landscape to emerge as a living place.
Through this series, the viewer can experience the encounter between nature and humanity. The cypress trees then become silent witnesses, motionless companions of our own inner selves.
